Embracing Seasons of Change
Change has a way of stirring up many emotions. It can bring excitement and anticipation, but it can also come with uncertainty, grief, and questions about what comes next. Whether we are beginning something new, saying goodbye to something familiar, or simply finding ourselves in a season we didn't expect, change reminds us that life is always moving forward.
The Bible speaks often about seasons. In Ecclesiastes 3:1, we are reminded that, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." Each season has its own purpose. Some are filled with celebration and abundance, while others invite patience, perseverance, and trust.
Just as the seasons of nature change, so do the seasons of our lives. Spring brings new growth, summer brings flourishing, autumn teaches us to let go, and winter offers rest and preparation for what is to come. None of these seasons lasts forever, and each one plays an important role in shaping what comes next.
For many in our community, including those who have rebuilt their lives after leaving everything familiar behind, change is not simply an idea but a lived experience. Starting over in a new country, learning a new language, building friendships, finding work, and creating a sense of home all require tremendous courage. While these transitions are often challenging, they also reveal incredible resilience and hope.
Throughout Scripture, we see that God often works through seasons of transition. Abraham was called to leave his homeland without knowing exactly where he was going. The Israelites journeyed through the wilderness before reaching the Promised Land. Ruth found a new future after profound loss. Even Jesus' ministry was marked by moments of transition that ultimately led to new life and hope.
These stories remind us that change is not the absence of God's presence. It is often where His guidance becomes most evident.
Isaiah 43:19 offers this beautiful promise:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Sometimes we cannot yet see the full picture of what God is creating. We only see the next step. But faith invites us to trust that every ending can become the beginning of something new.
As a community, we are grateful for every season that has brought us to where we are today. We carry forward the relationships we have built, the lessons we have learned, and the countless moments of generosity, kindness, and perseverance that continue to define Bridge Builders Network.
Whatever season you find yourself in today, know that you do not walk through it alone. We are thankful for each volunteer, donor, partner, and family who continues to be part of this journey. Your support helps create places of belonging where new beginnings can take root and hope can flourish.
May we all embrace the season before us with open hearts, trusting that even in times of change, God remains faithful. And may we continue building bridges of compassion, understanding, and community, wherever the path leads next.
