Maher Sarhan
About Me
Hello, my name is Maher Sarhan. I am from the land of Jordan. I was born and raised in Baghdad, My family moved to Amman, Jordan in 2007, fleeing from war and persecution. In 2016 I met a team who had come from the Rock School of Ministry in San Diego and worked with them doing translation and visiting Syrian and Iraqi refugees. From them I learned about the Rock School of Ministry and enrolled in San Diego in 2107. In the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego I was introduced to Syrian refugee families and began building friendships with several of them. God then put on my heart to serve Syrian families.
God spoke to me through Is 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
My ministry now is helping Syrian families get connected to local Americans, helping them to learn the culture and the laws of their new home, translating, helping them learn English, to finding jobs, helping them with housing, and making food deliveries.
MY VISION
My vision is to see Syrian families come to Christ and to feel settled in their new homeland, and to see them gain back all that they have lost because of being forced to leave their homeland
CURRENT
I am currently on a tourist visa which expires next January. I have not attended school since 2004 and currently studying to get my GED. God has put on my heart to spend more and more time with the Syrian men, to encourage them as many are struggling with the trauma that has have happened to them in the past, answering questions they have about the Christian faith and to pray for them and their families.

For my mother in Amman, that she will get her immigration visa to resettle in Australia, where her sisters and my sister live.
