ABOUT
Our mission is to promote bridge-building efforts through education and service at the intersection of culture and faith
We are a community who enjoys friendships with people from different ethnic and national backgrounds, valuing each person with dignity and respect. We promote opportunities to learn and share among each other, deepening understanding and strengthening relationships. Some of these ways include helping one another, especially those who are new to the United States. It is our desire that the programs we offer will help to serve the well-being of each individual involved.
Projects
Student Tutoring
Parents who are learning English often find it challenging to help their children with their schoolwork; therefore, we offer to provide tutors who may help. Our tutors are sensitive to cross-cultural needs and are equipped to help with students’ academic achievement. All of our tutors receive training and security background checks before being paired with students. By providing tutoring, we desire to serve and bless the families who are our friends.
Contact Sharon Hampton (512-791-2060) for more details about the training location.
ENGLISH language ambassadors (ELA)
English lessons are provided by and for adult women and men. The teachers are native-English speakers and use a standard curriculum in which they have been trained. Lessons are provided in the homes of the students. Most often, two teachers will come together to the home so that a master teacher may provide training for a new teacher. In this way, many more people have the opportunity to learn English and develop friendships.
Afghan communities are waiting for ESL help. Volunteers are needed! Please contact Sharon Hampton at 512 791-2060 for more information.

Upcoming Eevents
Cup of Nations
Cup of Nations is an annual international soccer tournament focused on celebrating the diversity of Austin and connecting Internationals with local churches. We have hosted two Cup of Nations events and plan another one for April, 2024.
Volunteers form "fan clubs" for the teams. Fan clubs are groups of 5-10 people who would be partnered with an ethnic tournament team with the hope of making relational connections for long term friendship. Stay tuned for more details on next year's event!
There is also a plan for a smaller, regional competition of 3 or 4 teams for the fall of 2023. More information to come!
Matthew 5:9 Message
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.”
Trauma Healing
Many of our friends come to the United States after experiencing some very difficult things in their lives. The wounds of the past are often challenging to overcome, so we desire to walk together in the journey of healing. We provide opportunities for people to join trauma healing groups within a safe environment, offering support, encouragement and hope.
