Building Bridges Of Understanding and Friendship on Common Ground.
Over half of the world’s population today identify as being either Christian or Muslim. The fourteen hundred year history of relations between those who call themselves Christians and those who call themselves Muslims reveals times of conflict and war but also times of living together in peace and mutual respect. Unfortunately today there still exists misunderstandings and hostility between some who identify themselves with one of these two faith traditions.
We have the historical foundation and framework in America to change this destructive pattern of mistrust and hostility and to model the best practices of our faiths to each other and to the rest of the world. Together we must face and overcome our fears and prejudices.
Our mission is to promote bridge building efforts through education and service at the intersection of culture and faith.
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family. Matthew 5:9 Message
Here is an article written by a Muslim with a similar mission, quoting the Quran as well as the words of Jesus. He is also suggesting that Muslims and Christians in America have an opportunity to lead the way in modeling building bridges of friendship and understanding. Mr Kaskis is the co-author of a Quran with 3000 references found in the Bible .
